Virtualization has been used by state and local governments for more than a decade to simplify and consolidate systems, improve deployment options, manage complex environments and save money. Today, agencies are climbing the rungs of the virtualization ladder, virtualizing mission-critical applications such as 911 emergency response systems and GIS, to achieve the high availability and optimum performance required by those systems.
