Those cities and towns were selected for a variety of traits such as demand, existing infrastructure, and location, said Jared Baumann, brand product manager for C Spire. If plotted on a map, the cities and towns chosen represent a wide geographic area, spanning from all four corners of the state.
Finalists were announced at a news conference attended by Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant, who proclaimed Nov. 4 as “Get Fiber First” and “Gimme Fiber” day for the state.
According to C Spire, the company has already invested $200 million in fiber infrastructure in the state, with plans to invest another $100 million in the next 18 months as more cities are added to the state’s FTTH network.
Pricing for C Spire Internet connectivity varies depending on which of four packages a customer chooses. Gigabit Internet will be available for $80 per month, gigabit Internet and home phone service will be $100, gigabit Internet and television service will be $140, and Internet, television and phone will be $160. C Spire wireless customers receive a monthly $10 discount off any package.
