Tangent's VITA 8000S combines a PC and a 17-inch LCD display in an all-in-one chassis. The PC includes an Intel Celeron D, Pentium 4 or Pentium D processor supporting dual-core processing, 802.11a/b/g WLAN support (with embedded antenna), on-board Intel Gbit LAN, and high-quality video with integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics accelerator. It also has built-in speakers, up to 2 GB DDR SDRAM, and up to 120 GB Ultra ATA hard drive. The VITA 8000S is 3.5 inches thick and weighs 21 pounds. It has numerous wall-mount options, including a vertical lift mount. The system features four USB 2.0 ports, two PCMCIA Type II slots or one PCMCIA Type III slot, slim optical disk drive and FDD options, as well as legacy PS/2, serial and parallel ports.

LCD Delight

Westinghouse Digital Electronics' LCM-19v7 19-inch LCD monitor offers 1280x1024 resolution and 8 ms response time. With 16.2 million colors and 300 cd/m2 brightness, the monitor sports a contrast ratio of 450-to-1. Its viewing angle is 150 degrees horizontal and 130 degrees vertical. Standard connectors include D-Sub mini 15 pins, AC-in, DVI-D and stereo mini jack. With its base, the unit weighs 9.9 pounds and measures 17.3x16.4x8.3. It can be affixed to a desk using an under-cabinet mount, or to a wall using a swivel or a flat mount.

Locked Tight

The Kensington MicroSaver notebook lock features a 6-foot, 4.5 mm thick steel composite cable with carbon-tempered steel core. A built-in tamper-evident feature detects unauthorized use. The MicroSaver locks into the standard Kensington security slot found in 99 percent of notebooks, and many flat panel monitors, CPUs, projectors, printers, docking stations, tablet PCs and other devices. Custom keying options are available in master access, shared access or supervisor-only access.

Scan Fast

The Plustek PL7000 scans 70 pages per minute at 600 dpi and is USB 2.0-compatible. The 80-sheet auto document feeder can handle legal size paper up to 18 pounds, and the maximum scanning area for the flatbed scanning area is letter size paper. Paper can be converted into searchable PDF documents that can be archived or shared. Software includes an optical character recognition application that recognizes 177 languages.
