Painless Agendas

LaserFiche Agenda Manager is a Web-based tool designed to streamline the agenda process from calls for submissions through final packet publication and post-meeting minutes distribution. Item and report submitters send items electronically, and can digitally attach maps, drawings and other supporting material. Password protection provides security while allowing input from key personnel. Clerks and preparers track items with automated status alerts, and can accommodate last-minute revisions without editing multiple paper copies. Automated routing simplifies the approvals process, and automated publishing to the agency's intranet or the Internet allows access for the agency, public and media.

Catch Some Zs

Canon's CanoScan LiDE 35 color image scanner sports a Z-Lid expansion top, which automatically lifts and lies flat on the item being scanned. The scanner also features four one-touch buttons (copy, scan, file and e-mail) and a multiscan mode to scan multiple images at once, saving each image to its own file for archiving or editing. The device scans multipage documents to a single PDF file, and offers a maximum optical resolution of 1200 x 2400 dpi and an enhanced resolution of 9600 dpi. The slim unit includes one cable for USB 2.0 high-speed connection.

Travelin' Mouse

The Memorex ScrollPro Travel Mouse uses optical laser technology for precise cursor control. There is no mouse ball to clean, and the device works without a mouse pad. The scroll wheel improves Web surfing and program navigation, while the mouse's symmetrical shape fits comfortably in either hand. Both USB and PS/2 connectors allow for fast computer installation.

Coat of Armor

StylusCentral.com makes aluminum cases for PDAs from anodized aircraft-grade material that is molded to fit the dimensions of the handheld devices. The case includes neoprene lining to secure and protect the handheld against drops, shocks and collisions. Cutouts in the case provide access to the device's stylus, Secure Digital (SD) I/O expansion slot, camera, microphone, headphone jack, reset button, IR port, and charging/communication port. The model also includes a slot for storing an extra SD card. Cases are available for an array of PDAs.
