SmartLine Inc. announced PortsLock version 1.3, a security solution that enables systems administrators to set permissions on TCP/IP connections, protecting corporate networks against inside attacks, PortsLock is a firewall with user-level access controls for Windows NT/2000/XP and Windows Server 2003. Administrators can assign permissions to TCP/IP connections. The new version allows users to filter records in the monitoring list and audit log. Informative Graphics Corp. released Net-It Central 6.0, the latest version of its Web-publishing automation software, which multiple authors can contribute Windows-based office files directly to an intranet or extranet by saving the file. Net-It Central publishes a rendition of the original file, giving administrators complete control over which documents are read, annotated, printed or downloaded. The rendition is automatically published, transferred, indexed onto the Net-It Central site server, and made available for search and retrieval.

TOLIS Group Inc. announced BRU command line interface (CLI) data protection software for Mac OS X systems. BRU CLI protects the data on Xserve internal ATA hard drives, externally attached SCSI drives and arrays, and Fibre Channel-connected Xserve RAID storage subsystem. It supports SCSI, Fibre Channel, Firewire and USB tape drives, and will write to removable media and disk farms. BRU CLI's small footprint allows multiple processes to drive multiple tape drives simultaneously with a minimal increase in system load. BRU CLI is priced at $329.
