The TruePoint T-15 is a combination of the ClearTek 2000 and the Tatung CM-15VBE Audio 15 monitor, providing a dot pitch of 0.28 mm, a maximum video resolution of 1,024 x 768, a touch-screen resolution of 1,024 x 1,024 and a touch-down speed of 8 to 15 ms. The System Six Wearable Computer is a portable computer that fits inside helmets. Originally designed for use by troops in combat, the computers are now being tested for use in police functions. The devices come with a head-mounted display screen that fits over the eyes, held in place with a headband. Through a special optical display, the image on the screen appears as it would on a desktop machine.
Using the device, officers can communicate with headquarters via a microphone attached to their chin strap and a small video camera that transmits real-time images. The system's voice recognition software also allows officers to call up documents such as criminal records and building plans as they work, consult experts instantly when in an emergency situation, and record interviews with witnesses or suspects.
