Answer: a giant game of Tetris

Hackers turned MIT's Green Building, home to  the MIT Earth and Planetary Sciences department, into a giant, playable, multi-color Tetris game. A console allowed players to move, rotate, and drop blocks.

According to MIT IHTFP Hacks, the hack appeared to have been installed by deploying multi-color lighting modules onto the window sills of most of the rooms on the building's river side, creating a 9x17 pixel RGB display. This may be the second largest full-color video display in the U.S.
