How many Twitter users in the U.S. had their tweets subpoenaed by U.S. government agencies in the first half of 2012?

Answer: 948

According to Twitter's first Transparency Report, U.S. government agencies have submitted 679 requests for 948 specified accounts/users so far in 2012 -- and Twitter has fulfilled 75 percent of those requests. The number of requests in other countries pale in comparison:
