For what type of drones is the U.S. Army currently seeking proposals?

August 6, 2012 By

Answer: Medical-related drones

The U.S. Army has released a request for proposals for "autonomous vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) unmanned aircraft systems (UAS)" -- better known as drones -- for dropping off medical supplies and picking up injured troops, engadget.com has reported. The Army isn't looking for new tools, however; it's looking t for the repurposing of current aircraft to do the job. According to engadget, preferred drones include the A160 Hummingbird and the K-MAX, and other suggestion is for remote-control modification of the infamous Black Hawk.
