The plain-paper copier. A demonstration of the Xerox 914 (above) was conducted at a New York hotel and broadcast live on television. The 648-pound machine could create one 9x14 copy every 26.4 seconds. Xerox did not sell the machines. Rather, they leased each unit and charged for each copy made. Below is a commercial for the 914.
