CTIA-The Wireless Association released new research showing that for the first time these "wireless subscriber connections" outnumber the total population of the United States, which stands at 312.4 million according to the Census Bureau.
Between June 2010 and June 2011, 341.2 billion megabytes of data was sent over wireless data networks, which was a 111 percent increase from the year prior. In the U.S., there are 95.8 million active smartphones and wireless PDAs, as well as 15.2 million wireless-enabled tablets, laptops and modems.
