What did the former mayor of Flint, Mich., do that has the Internet brewing?

Answer: erect a bronze statue of himself

It turns out that the RoboCop statue in Detroit, Mich., isn't the only monument making news. North of Detroit is Flint, birthplace of General Motors and home to a bronze statue of former Mayor Don Williamson. What has the Internet brewing though, isn't that the statue exists, but where it exists. It turns out Williamson erected an 8-foot bronze version of his bod outside the entrance of his home. Media outlets like Yahoo poked fun at the idea and HuffPost Detroit readers made various comments about it. Perhaps Williamson has surveillance cameras so it doesn't end up like the Abraham Lincoln statue.

I think there is probably a good reason he has his hands in his pockets.
