What new strategy did scientists at Hebrew University of Jerusalem create for fingerprint visualization?

November 13, 2012 By

Answer: producing a negative fingerprint image

Though identifying fingerprints on paper is commonly used in police forensic work, it's rather difficult to make those fingerprints visible. But scientists at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem use an innovative chemical process to produce a negative of the fingerprint image rather than the positive image produced under current methods, making the fingerprint more readable, according to the university.
