According to Deloitte Research, there are five common "rightsizing" strategies CIOs have implemented. The most popular strategy is the sharing of enterprise applications, said 29 percent of CIOs who responded to a Deloitte rightsizing survey. Data center consolidation came in at 23 percent while Web server consolidation notched 20 percent. Rounding out the top five strategies were outsourcing (18 percent) and statewide consolidation of IT spending (10 percent).
