Following Karen Evans' retirement as administrator of e-government and IT for the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on Jan. 20, 2009, there's thought that Vivek Kundra, CTO of Washington, D.C., will be appointed to the position by the Obama administration, according to a NextGov.com article.
According to Federal News Radio's sources, OMB staff received an internal memo welcoming Kundra and announcing the nomination.
