Public Technology Institute today announced the recipients of the 2007-2008 Solutions awards, an annual competition rewarding those PTI member local governments that apply technology to improve service delivery, reduce operating costs and create new revenue opportunities. Winners received their awards at the 2008 PTI Technology Leadership Conference, May 6-8, 2008 in Miami. More than 200 government officials and technology industry representatives took part in the conference program.
"Government innovation truly starts at the local level," said Alan Shark, executive director of PTI when presenting the awards. "The scope of the technology programs entered in this year's competition is impressive, and the award winners will serve to inspire other local governments." Winning entries, and those recognized for Significant Achievement are listed below:
