Statecraft Becomes Openland, Not-Exactly-Slack for Real Estate Communications The startup began with the idea to help local government wrangle its housing data. But now it's pivoting — with an initial funding round of more than $2 million — to become a modern messaging platform for all sides of the real estate development process. That includes local government, which can use the platform to list lots and answer questions from people who want to build.


Columbus, Ohio, Publishes RFP for Multi-Modal Trip Planning App The federally-funded Smart City Challenge winner wants an app to help people seamlessly plan and pay for trips, no matter how many different types of transportation they use along the way. It's a two-part RFP — the first, just released, focuses on the app itself, and the second, due later this year, will deal with payment.
 
San Francisco Chooses E-Scooter Companies, Releases Scoring Rubric The city is letting Skip and Scoot deploy their electric scooters, spuring 10 others including Lime and Bird. It also released the scoring rubric it used to assess the companies on subjects such as equity and safety.
