British Artist Constructs Levitating Building in London

by Jessica Mulholland / October 7, 2014

British artist Alex Chinneck has constructed a building in London's Covent Garden that looks as if it split in two, and its top half is levitating 10 feet above its bottom half.

Called, "Take my lightning but don’t steal my thunder," the prefabricated art piece is 40 feet long and is constructed primarily from polystyrene (you know, foam) and a steel frame that weighs approximately 15.7 US tons.

To passersby, it appears that the top half of the building is left unsupported – though as Gizmag pointed out, a conveniently-situated green cart that rests against the outside of the building is a bit suspicious.
