Jindal Appoints Four to Louisiana Broadband Advisory Council

Serves to develop and implement a plan to increase broadband access and usage throughout the state.

Governor Bobby Jindal on Wednesday announced appointments to the Broadband Advisory Council. The Broadband Advisory Council is an entity within the Governor's Office of Rural Development that serves to develop and implement a plan to increase broadband access and usage throughout the state. Appointments to the Broadband Advisory Council are as follows.

Debra Blackman

Debra Blackman, of Monroe, is a certified computing professional and a professional in residence at Louisiana Tech University. Blackman will serve as a member from the private sector representing businesses located in rural areas that utilize advanced telecommunication and information services or need such services to further develop their businesses, as required by statute.

Larry Henning

Larry Henning, of Baton Rouge, is the president of the Louisiana Telecommunications Association and a member of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Henning was reappointed to serve as a member from the private sector representing local telephone exchange carriers, specifically the Louisiana Telecommunications Association, as required by statute.

George Mack

George Mack, of Lake Charles, is the president of Cameron Communications, LLC, and serves on the McNeese State University College of Business Advisory Board. Mack was reappointed to serve as a member from the private sector representing an internet service provider, as required by statute.

Cheryl McCormick

Cheryl McCormick, of Baton Rouge, is the CEO of the Louisiana Cable and Telecommunications Association and a member of the American Society of Association Executives. McCormick was reappointed to serve as a member from the private sector representing local telephone exchange carriers, as required by statute.
