The Fujitsu ScanSnap fi-5110EOX2 scanner digitizes both sides of a document in a single pass, in color, and as fast as 15 pages per minute. It automatically recognizes and eliminates blank pages, even when scanning combinations of one-sided and two-sided documents. The scanner automatically separates color documents from black-and-white, and saves the information in highly compressed files to save space. ScanSnap automatically straightens and aligns text and images into their correct orientation, and automatically detects the following paper sizes: A4, B5, A5, B6, A6, business card, legal and letter. Users can scan up to A3-sized documents with the included carrier sheet. The scanner includes an automatic document feeder, 600 dpi optical resolution, with 150 dpi color and 300 dpi black and white.

Road to Wireless
The Linksys Compact Wireless-G Broadband Router is three devices in one. First, the wireless access point lets users connect 802.11g devices to the network at 54 Mbps and 802.11b at 11 Mbps. There's also a built-in four-port, full-duplex 10/100 switch to connect wired-Ethernet devices together. Connect four PCs directly, or attach more hubs and switches to create a larger network. The router function lets the whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection. To protect data and privacy, the device can encode all wireless transmissions with WEP or WPA personal encryption. The router can serve as a DHCP server, has an SPI firewall to protect PCs against intruders and most known Internet attacks, and supports VPN pass-through.
The Ricoh Aficio AP410 laser printer prints 28 pages per minute at up to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi. The printer warms up in less than 19 seconds and has a first print speed of 7.5 seconds or less. It has a 300 MHz processor and comes standard with 64 MB memory (upgradeable to 320 MB). The device offers maximum 8.5" x 14" paper input and standard input capacity of 500 sheets -- a maximum of 1,600 sheets with two 500-sheet optional trays. The printer comes with standard USB 2.0 and bidirectional IEEE 1284 parallel interfaces.
