Texas County Courts Digitizing

This past summer, Dallas County, Texas, District Clerk Gary Fitzsimmons announced on his blog that the county would soon become the first court in the county to be completely digital. According to a story yesterday in the Dallas Morning News, one court is nearing completion, and the others are targeted for conversion by July of next year. Travis County's Family Court digitization is being used as a model, and in Travis county, paper records are scanned and the paper retained for two years in the event of errors or omissions. After that the paper is shredded.
