How many different networks does the Pentagon reportedly have?

Answer: 15,000

This figure comes from a Thursday, Jan. 12, online story from Wired. Gen. Keith Alexander, who directs the U.S. Cyber Command, reportedly said the Pentagon's 15,000 networks are "not defensible" as currently configured. Alexander made the remark during a conclave of security professionals at the International Conference on Cyber Security at Fordham University in New York. Wired reported one of the Cyber Command's top goals is to consolidate the number of military networks, data centers, and help desks down to 3,000.
