What new technology purchase will allow a Texas police department to take a closer look at officer operations?

Answer: body cameras

The Lubbock Police Department in Northern Texas purchased 70 body cameras, which will be worn by their busiest patrol officers, “especially the night shift guys,” according to Lubbock County District Attorney Matt Powell. The District Attorney's Office paid for the cameras using a $60,000 grant dedicated to helping prevent domestic violence, and officials say the cameras will help jurors make better informed decisions in cases where police are present.
