The econ students at Lehigh University are at it again, this time looking at commercially available cars to determine how much the average, run of the mill Batmobile would cost. "Batmobile History has meticulously recorded every single version of the Batmobile to have ever made an appearance and has figured out based on the design of the car, exactly which automobile Batman modified to speed across the streets of Gotham," the students said on their blog, Centives. The students then used data from http://www.conceptcarz.com to find out how much money the Wayne Trust Fund would have had to pay for the vehicle.
The most expensive Batmobile a modified Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR, as seen in the 2004 comic books. In 2010 dollars, it would have cost around $1.8 million.
