What percentage of doctors and nurses say patient care is better with health-care IT?

Answer: 84 percent

Health-care IT has seen dramatic expansion over the last 18 months: According to a national survey of caregivers and health-care IT professionals, 56 percent of facilities deployed an electronic health record (EHR), 48 percent deployed computerized physician order entry, 32 percent deployed health information exchange, and 26 percent deployed point of care. But even with the large number of new systems, 84 percent of caregivers said health-care IT makes delivering patient care better, and 71 percent said they could accomplish half or less of their workload without health-care IT.
