Where will wearable computers go next?

Answer: in the ear

At least one research group, in Japan, is testing a small wearable computer that goes inside the user’s ear and is controlled by blinking or with the tongue. The 17-gram wireless device can connect with Bluetooth, and has GPS, a compass, gyro sensors, a barometer, speaker, microphone and a battery.

Makers say this type of device would be particularly useful for those who need both of their hands while using the device – people such as rock climbers, bicyclists, astronauts or disabled people.
