Which big tech company is considering entrance into the wireless services market?

Answer: Google

Rumor has it that Google has met with Verizon and Sprint, and is considering purchasing their wireless networks to sell wireless services as a wholesale provider.

Though no official announcement has yet been made, it’s also been suggested that those towers would comprise just one component of the network, which would be assisted by Google Fiber-enabled Wi-Fi hotspots. No timeline has been announced for this possible project, but if Google Fiber is an integral piece of the system, then it could be several years before Google decides to go forward with the idea as it builds fiber networks around the country.
