For more than 40 years, the White House has recognized leaders and everyday Americans for their outstanding acts of service, and this year, President Barack Obama has opened up the process to allow for nominations.
To nominate someone for the Citizens Medal, fill out the online application through Tuesday, April 24. White House staff members will narrow the nominations, and winners will awarded at a ceremony with the president.
