What’s the goal of a new motorcycle research project under the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency?

Answer: to make the vehicle silent

Researchers with Logos Technologies are working through a $100,000, six-month DARPA contract to establish a preliminary design for a silent motorcycle.

The concept is to develop a hybrid electric/gas powered engine that would allow the vehicle to be used by special ops agents during raids to move quickly and remain undetected. The project will be based on an existing vehicle, the RedShift MX electric motorcycle that is made by BRD Motorcycles in San Francisco.
