Swiss-German IT firm GeOps and the University of Freiburg teamed to create TRAVIC — the Transit Visualization Client — a Web app that allows users to view the location of thousands of buses and trains around the world in real time. Most of the visualization is based on static schedule data, but some is based on actual location. Either way, it’s a new representation of what can be done at the intersection of technology and public transit.
