A webinar hosted May 19 highlighted a series of projects funded by the U.S. Department of Energy aimed at positioning solar power as a major asset in meeting rising energy demands. When energy consumption becomes unpredictable, the DOE wants solar to pick up the slack as the agency strives toward its goal of 100 percent energy availability at peak hours.
