Is there a market for smart cups?

Answer: Vessyl thinks so

Vessyl will soon sell battery-powered smart cups for $199 each, available now for a pre-order price of $99.

The cup comes in eight colors, has a spill-proof lid and sleek design, but is unique because it displays information whenever a beverage is poured inside. The cup can identify some drinks, brands and flavors and what’s in them. The cup can also connect to the user’s smartphone, which allows the user to track things like calories, sugar and caffeine. The cup can also sync with activity trackers.
