Which material is one Dutch firm using to produce roadways?

Answer: plastic

Most U.S. roadways are made of asphalt, but Dutch construction firm VolkerWessels has revealed plans to build roads from recycled plastic.

The company says its technique, called PlasticRoad, would cut costs, reduce construction time and lengthen lifespan to three times that of asphalt. Plastic, the company claims, can better withstand extreme temperatures and corrosion. The product is now in the concept phase, and the company is looking for partners with whom they can develop a prototype.
