While some worry that facial recognition could be overcome by an imposter wearing a mask, researchers at India’s Jadavpur University took a different approach, Gizmag reported.

The system uses an infrared scanner to identify the veins and arteries beneath the skin, which can provide a 97 percent accurate match, according to the researchers.
