A 10 ft. bronze statue will be erected in Detroit based on which iconic 1987 film?

As real-world Detroit begins to look more and more like the fictional Detroit from the movie, crowdfunders look forward to the statue’s unveiling this coming summer. The project raised more than $67,000 in six days in 2011 on Kickstarter. The project is also supported by Peter Weller, the actor who played Robocop in the original film (and the first sequel). A third sequel to Robocop will be released in theaters Feb. 2014.
