Small robots developed by MIT to move in a swarm and form different structures are shaped like what?

Answer: cubes

The cube-shaped robots, known as M-Blocks have no external moving parts, just flat surfaces, and crawl, spin and stack to create different structures. The MIT-developed robots use magnets to perform their movements and each play their own part in the "modular robot system." While many thought this technology may not have been viable, researchers believe this could be refined and armies of robots could be deployed to accomplish tasks such as temporarily repairing bridges or buildings during an emergency.
