Researchers are looking to what biological function as a way to authenticate the user of a device?

Answer: The heartbeat

As a way to prevent pacemakers or insulin pumps from being hacked, researchers at Rice University are looking into using a person’s heartbeat to generate a unique password. According to the researchers, the current generation of biomedical devices doesn’t have security functions, and they can be hacked relatively easily, which could kill the user. Researchers also said heartbeat passwords could also be used for brain implants, as well.
