Is there anywhere this surveillance robot can’t go?

Answer: No.

Seriously, it can do anything short of fly. It can even move on water.

Aptly named Guardbot, this device that looks a bit like the Star Wars drone BB-8 was designed to be the ultimate surveillance tool. It is equipped with two surveillance cameras, microphones and GPS. Oh, and it can be controlled with a remote or a satellite, meaning it could potentially be used from anywhere in the world.

Guardbot has a top speed of 9 mph on land and 3 mph on water and has a battery capacity of 25 hours per charge. The U.S. military has considered using Guardbot in missions and has even done some testing. While it’s still in the development phase, final versions could cost close to $100,000.
