Two tech companies — Movidius, which makes machine vision technology, and Chinese security camera maker Hikvision — have joined forces to create smart cameras that can detect certain types of behavior, like suspicious packages, drivers distracted by mobile devices and intruders trying to access secure locations, according to a press release.

Advanced visual analytics also will allow cameras to identify car models and detect seat belts, Quartz reported, also noting that Hikvision claims it has achieved 99 percent accuracy in visual analytics with Movidius’ help.
