Which state has an equal split of men and women?

Answer: Washington

According to 2013 Census data, most states have slightly more women than men, but one state – Washington – has nearly an exact split of men and women. There tend to be more men than women in Northwestern states, with the highest ratio of men found in North Dakota – 51.1 percent. Rhode Island has the highest ratio of women, with women making up 51.6 percent of the state. A Washington Post map illustrates the data.

UPDATE: It was recently noted that the Washington Post map was completely wrong, so a writer at 22words.com made a new, accurate one.
