Tokelau, a territory of New Zealand, has officially become the world’s first solar-powered nation, according to inhabitat.com. To make this happen, the population (of about 1,400 people) installed 4,032 photovoltaic panels and 1,344 batteries to produce 150 percent of the populations’ energy needs.
