According to researchers from Harvard University and the University of Pennsylvania, students in Bangalore, India who cheated on their tests were 6.3 percent more likely to pursue jobs in government than those who did not cheat. The research also showed that those who were the least charitable were also the most inclined to want a job in government. Researchers suggested these results could be a result of government’s corrupt image, which may drive away honest people.
