Which country issued an $800 fine for a threatening Facebook comment?

One 19-year-old woman was made to pay 5,000 NOK ($800 U.S.) for comments she made toward another woman on Facebook in September 2012.

One comment, according to The Nordic Page, read that she wanted to "mash her face;" another was that "her face would not be so beautiful afterwards."

The conviction, for which the defendant acknowledged guilt, was violating another’s peace with intimidating or harassing behavior. The alternative to paying the fine was spending 10 days in jail.
