At the beginning of this year, the German auto manufacturer announced its intention to deliver at least 100,000 electric vehicles (EVs) worldwide by the end of the year. On Monday, BMW released a statement that it had achieved that goal.

“We deliver on our promises,” Harald Kruger, chairman of BMW AG’s board of management, said in the statement. “Selling 100,000 electrified cars in one year is an important milestone, but this is just the beginning for us. … Our early focus on electro-mobility has made this success possible — and electro-mobility will continue to be my measure for our future success.”

The BMW i3, released in 2013, was the automaker’s first EV model. The company has delivered more than 200,000 EVs since then, and introduced a few different models. In addition to celebrating this progress, Kruger made a new promise for BMW’s EV future, stating that they “will offer 25 electrified models” by 2025.
