Arizona Criminal Investigative Solution

Department of Public Safety can search more than 1 million facial images.

PHOENIX -- The Arizona Department of Public Safety in Phoenix has chosen ImageWare's Face ID facial recognition application and added Lineup Image Sync to its current Crime Capture System (CCS).

ICCS is a digital imaging solution for automated capture, storage and retrieval of booking images and related information. By incorporating Lineup Image Sync, the department will be able to produce non-prejudicial lineups by making image backgrounds and head dimensions consistent across all mugshots. All images can be queried against the department's CCS mugshot database using the Face ID application, which employs parallel processing to identify a suspect by measuring distinctive facial characteristics.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety consists of four divisions -- Highway Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Agency Support and Criminal Justice Support. Together these four divisions provide an extensive range of vital scientific, technical, operational and regulatory services to Arizona residents and to the state's criminal justice community. The Arizona Department of Public Safety has offices located in more than 30 communities within Arizona's 15 counties.
