Black Hat 2013: Cybersecurity Pros Weigh In on NIST Standards

What do private-sector cybersecurity professionals want included in updated standards from the NIST?

Earlier this year, Government Technology attended the Black Hat 2013 Conference, which ran from July 27 to August 1 in Las Vegas. We asked cybersecurity professionals for their opinions on some of today’s most pressing security issues.

President Obama’s executive order on cybersecurity has prompted the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to draft updated cybersecurity standards, and they plan to complete the project by October 2013. We asked professionals at the Black Hat conference what they’d like to see in those standards.
