Cut Undersea Cables Disrupt Internet in Middle East, Asia

Internet disruptions across two continents could take over week to repair.

According to reports by the Associated Press, two undersea cables were cut on Wednesday causing severe Internet disruptions across the Middle East and Asia.

The BBC is reporting a 70 percent Internet disruption in Egypt on Wednesday, and a 60 percent disruption in India. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates are among the affected countries.

AP is reporting that officials say it could take more then a week to fix the cables which were said to be cut in the Mediterranean Sea north of Alexandria, Egypt.
