FAA Seeking More Security From Wireless Asset Net

The FAA has awarded a grant of $1 million to I.D. Systems for development of improved security technology.

HACKENSACK, NJ - The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) have awarded a $1 million grant to I.D. Systems Inc., to augment its Wireless Asset Net fleet management technology, which has been tailored for commercial airport security.

"The Wireless Asset Net has already demonstrated significant safety and efficiency benefits for our Fortune 100 customers," said Kenneth Ehrman, president and CEO of I.D. Systems. "With the new hardware and software functionality developed under this FAA grant, our system will provide many important additional security benefits for major airlines, airport authorities and government transportation agencies in the United States and throughout the world."

The FAA requested that details of the system enhancements are withheld but the upgrades will be designed to upgrade security and efficiency while decreasing costs.
