Lake County Sheriff's Office Streamlines Operations

Ohio county gains technology to manage emergencies.

PAINESVILLE, Ohio -- As part of an effort to streamline operations and bring agencies to a near "paperless" entry of information, the Lake County, Ohio Sheriff's Office needed a incident management solution that offers both short-term and long-term capabilities and provides a high level of efficiency and data availability for the Lake County Central Communications Center.

Situated within 20 miles of the greater Cleveland area, Lake County is the smallest of Ohio's 88 Counties, but ranks 12th in population with more than 235,000 citizens.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office has selected Intergraph Public Safety (IPS) to provide a fully integrated computer aided dispatch (CAD), police records management, jail management, and mobile data computing software.

The Lake County Central Communications Center receives around 150,000 calls for service yearly and responds to over 100,000 incidents. The center is responsible for services to 12 police and eight fire agencies located throughout the county.
