The City of Garland's Municipal Court has successfully implemented an automated case docketing process that includes document workflow, eForms, and electronic signatures with an OnBase software solution provided by DataBank IMX. All cases in the courtroom are processed electronically and the eForms are digitally signed by the judges and the lawyers for each case.
John Matthias of the National Center for State Courts, impressed by
Garland's Municipal Court's achievement, invited Court Director Paige Bobbitt to present the Garland story at the National Court Technology Conference (CTC10) in Tampa. Mathias said, "The participating employees in the Court, Organizational Development and IT deserve recognition for this singular achievement."

said Bobbitt. "Their cutting-edge software offered the capabilities we needed to facilitate our re-engineered approach to court administration. Their solutions led us to discover new efficiencies for our Court, saving time and taxpayer dollars. Now we can completely process cases electronically through workflows and route large case files and documents with confidence. We have minimized errors by automating most human intervention tasks while effectively keeping track of the tens of thousands of documents that come through the Municipal Court on a daily basis."

All of the effort put forth by both DataBank IMX and the Municipal Court staff has finally come to fruition and all of the citizens of Garland will reap the rewards through the use of electronic dockets, in which judgments are delivered and signed electronically in the courtroom."
